Happy New Year!
This year I had the thrill of joining the countdown to one of the largest New Year’s celebrations in the world! NYE in NYC was an incomparable experience and I would do it over and over again! Although I didn’t actually stand in the freezing cold for hours to watch the ball drop, the black tie gala I attended at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel (where I stayed during my trip) was nothing short of delicious hors d’oeuvres, musical performances and spectacular views of Central Park.
During the trip, our family also watched the renowned Hamilton play! All I have to say is that it couldn’t have been better! Everything from the lyrics and the cast to the staging and execution was all perfect and I’m so glad I got tickets to see this phenomenal sold-out musical!
Of course I also did plenty of shopping in NYC…I mean who could resist those flagship boutiques and 7-story department stores?! My first stop was the famous vintage consignment store What Goes Around Comes Around. I immediately purchased the Chanel limited edition newspaper double flap bag and made my way to Bergdorf’s. This was honestly the best time to shop because not only were there beautiful holiday window displays, all the stores had sales and most merchandise was 50-60% off! The iconic department store had racks and racks of sale and I presumably bought too many things that my sales associate had to ship everything to my house because there was no way it was all going to fit in my suitcase! Dior pumps, Fendi furs, Chanel bags, Louis Vuitton fine jewelry and backpack, and Versace shoes, jacket, and backpack all made their way into my overly stuffed luggage. To all those who haven’t yet experienced the holidays in NYC, I strongly urge you to ring in 2018 in this beautiful city!
